Plan ahead and save money
If you think you will be able to mount a support handle quickly should the need arise, you’ve got another think coming. If no provisions were made for a fixed anchoring point behind the wall during construction, this won’t be possible. Good anchorage is essential, since a support handle must be capable of temporarily withstanding loads over 200 lbs if a user brings his or her entire weight to bear on it.
The right installation system makes everything easier
The added costs for including mounting plates when constructing a bathroom only amount to a few hundred dollars – a solid investment. Without these plates, the subsequent installation of simple support handles is likely to be expensive and laborious. The tiles and wallboard behind them on their own do not provide sufficiently stable anchorage for support handles, so cannot offer secure support for the bathroom user. In a nutshell, choosing the right installation in advance means that retrofitting at a later date won’t cost an arm and a leg, and can be done at any time without any problems and with very little effort.
