"One57" high-rise apartment building, New York (USA)
Waking up to the sun rising over the Atlantic, dining with the sun setting over Central Park as the backdrop, and brushing your teeth before bed in view of the Statue of Liberty – all visible from just one apartment. This is the experience offered by "One57", one of the tallest high-rise apartment buildings in New York. Designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc, the building is one of the numerous high-rise buildings sprouting from the ground like mushrooms in the US metropolis. Its 75 floors house 135 residential units and a hotel with 210 rooms and suites.

The "Laces" research and development building, Adidas headquarters, Herzogenaurach (Germany)
The Adidas "World of Sports" company campus already features a number of characteristic buildings. In 2011 the location was enhanced by the addition of the new "Laces" research and development building, which affords new workspaces for around 1700 designers, developers, researchers, and marketing strategists. Laces fits into the existing ensemble of the campus as a hovering contrast to the black structure that is the Adidas Brand Center. The aim of the design was to create a building that matched the brand. This principle was applied both to the architectural design and, in particular, to the working environment and everyday creative activities. This resulted in the concept of a ring-shaped building with walkways over the atrium resembling the "laces" which give the building its name.

Geberit Sigma30 flush plate
Geberit concealed systems have been used worldwide for decades. Once the system is installed, only the flush plate is visible, so the design of the plate plays a key role. Geberit offers architects and interior designers the widest range of finishes and shapes available, for maximum creative freedom. For example, all bathrooms in the 135 residential units and 210 hotel rooms at One57 and all bathrooms in the Adidas "Laces" building feature the Geberit Bolero flush plate, which in 2016 will become Sigma30. Sigma30 is available in six different colors, including bright chrome and matte chrome (shown). Built-in dual flush -- large button for solids and small button for liquids -- means every Sigma30 flush plate starts saving water from the moment it's installed!
